Bruce Pearl literally put the fight in Auburn Saturday.
The Tigers coach was passionately directing his players on the court when his fist accidentally connected with one of his own players, Jared Harper.
Fortunately for Pearl, his fist didn’t squarely hit Harper in the face and the guard was able to play the rest of the game. Harper finished with 11 points and eight assists for the Tigers.
Auburn went on to win the game decisively, with a 95-70 victory.
Pearl had helped build the Tigers into one of the best teams in the SEC this season. Auburn sits in first place in the conference with an overall record of 19-2, including a 7-1 record in SEC play.
The Tigers will hope to roll with the punches the rest of the season and make a run in the NCAA Tournament in March.
