Impending ruled out of Winterbottom

The G1 Winterbottom Stakes (1200m) favourite Impending has been ruled out of the $ 1 million feature, with Godolphin trainer James Cummings electing to send the entire for a spell.

Sky Racing’s Andrew Bensley reported the news on Sunday, with the decision sure to cause a huge reshuffle of the market.

Impending, third in the G1 Darley Classic (1200m) at his most recent start, was as short as $ 3.30 for Western Australia’s premier sprint on December 2.

His withdrawal means that local galloper State Solicitor will assume favouritism ahead of South Australian-based swooper Viddora.

The Williams-trained State Solicitor, a winner of 9 of his 12 career outings, overcame major traffic issues to salute in the G3 Colonel Reeves (1100m) at Ascot yesterday (video below).
