Serena Williams is in her own way a style icon so it was no surprise to see her rock the boat as one of the co-chairs of the 2019 MET Gala.
And she did so in her own inimitable fashion by pairing a neon yellow Versace dress with pink butterflies with not heels but a pair of Nike off white air force 1s.
The look was of course iconic as the MET theme for the Anna Wintour hosted event was OTT (over the top) and Serena definitely proved she had that, with husband and Reddit founder Alexis Ohanian in tow, in a white cocktail jacket.
As is always the case Serena’s outfit drew plenty of reaction across social media with may approving of her look.
While designers Versace simply wanted to explain their dress.
It’s not the first time Williams has rocked a neon yellow look as she did so at the 2016 Australian Open.
And with the French Open on the horizon, beginning on May 26 in Paris, it does make tennis fans wonder what might be in store this season in Paris.
In the past at Roland Garros the GOAT donned an infamous black catsuit, which organisers banned in 2018 but that’s just been one of many unique and iconic looks for the 23-time grand slam winner over the years.
2004 was also an interesting year for Williams and her on court fashion as she donned a biker look at the US Open and also went full gladiator at Wimbledon, in a white and gold ensemble.
Williams wasn’t the only sports star past or present to hit the red carpet as former Yankee Alex Rodriguez rocked up with wife Jennifer Lopez.
